Ashe Services for Aging's Mission is to provide services, intergenerational activities, and opportunities to the elderly and disabled adults of Ashe County that enhance their dignity and help them maintain their independence at home.

Chaplain Greg Topczewski

Every 1st & 3rd Tuesday, Chaplain Greg Topczewski will visit the Ashe Senior Center from 11am to 2pm. He offers a variety of services including private counseling, spiritual guidance, and more.

A Matter of Balance

A Matter of Balance is a program designed to help those concerned about falls. Classes are held weekly from April 12th - May 31st, 1:30 - 3:30pm, and Free to attend. For more information or to register for the class stop by the Senior Center Desk or call the Senior Center at 336-246-4347.

Avon & Watches

Join Vivian and Ted on May 9th from 9am - noon, where they will be selling a variety of watches and Avon products.

Lifeline Screening

On May 15th, the Senior Center will be hosting a Lifeline Screening event, providing various tests of cardiovascular health. Pre-registration is required. to register, call 1-888-653-6450.

Opioid Abuse Forum

A presentation and panel on the opioid crisis within the elderly population will be held May 15th from 9am - noon. RSVP to Jamie Shepherd or Randy Revis at (336) 846-5719.

Paint with Raney

Raney Rogers will hold the next Paint with Raney event on May 16th from 1 - 3pm. The cost is $35 and includes all materials. Those interested can sign up at the front desk. Payment is required when signing up.

Virtual Dementia Tour

The Virtual Dementia Tour is a scientifically proven method of building a greater understanding of dementia through the use of patented sensory tools and instruction. You can take the tour May 17th from 1pm - 3pm at Ashe Services for Aging. Fundraiser Auction

On May 19th from 2-5pm, the Senior Center will hold an auction to raise funds for senior center activities. A variety of items will be up for auction, and food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Health Fair

The Senior Center will host a Health Fair on May 23rd from 9am - 2pm. A variety of health information will be available, and West Jefferson's Lions Club Vision & Hearing Van will be giving free screenings.

The Senior Center will be hosting Bingo with Terry on May 25th from 10am - noon.

Senior Health & Fitness Day

Vaya Health Geriatric & Adult Mental Health Presentations

Throughout 2018 the Senior Center will host a variety of presentations on mental health, brought to you by Vaya Health's Geriatric & Adult Mental Health Specialty Team. Join us for Bingo events from 10:30 until 11:30am, and the main presentation from 2pm - 3pm. Please see the Bingo and Presentation flyers to see when each event will be held.
