Ashe Services for Aging's Mission is to provide services, intergenerational activities, and opportunities to the elderly and disabled adults of Ashe County that enhance their dignity and help them maintain their independence at home.

Chaplain Greg Topczewski

Every 1st & 3rd Tuesday, Chaplain Greg Topczewski will visit the Ashe Senior Center from 11am to 2pm. He offers a variety of services including private counseling, spiritual guidance, and more.

Diabetes Classes

Beginning September 5th, the Senior Center will host a free 6 week course on diabetes. Classes will be each Tuesday at 1pm. Register by calling the Senior Center at 336-246-4347.

Tai Chi for Arthritis

The Senior Center will be offering Tai Chi classes for Arthritis on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Spetember 6th at 1pm. Please call the Senior Center for more information @ 336-246-4347, or feel free to drop by and sign up.

Yard Sale

On September 11th and 12th, the Senior Center will hold a yard sale from 8am - 4pm.

Flu Clinic

On September 18th from 10am - noon, you can get a flu shot at the Senior Center. Participants need to bring their Medicare card. This event is sponsored by Rite Aid.

Virtual Dementia Tour

On September 19th from 1 - 3pm, the Senior Center will present the Virtual Dementia Tour - a scientifically proven method of building greater understanding of dementia through the use of patented sensort tools and instruction. Call for an appointment, space is limited.

Disaster Preparedness

Be prepared for the unexpected. Join us on Wednesday September 20th at 11:30am for an informative presentation hosted by Ashe County Emergency Manage-ment personnel, Teresa Richardson. She will help you to become better prepared for possible disasters. This is a free event and is open to the public.

RHOC Preventive Health Program

The Senior Center will host a Rural Health Outreach Collaborative Preventive Health Program on September 29th from 9am - 12pm. Health assessments include basic health measures, cognition, vision, hearing, nutrition, mobility & fall risk, behavioral health, and medication review. To register call 828-262-7677 or ask at Ashe Senior Center.

Lifeline Screening

The Senior Center will host a Lifeline Screening event on October 17th. Pre-registration is required, call 1-888-653-6450.
