Ashe Services for Aging Testimonials
My name is Kathryn and my two children, Richard and Victoria, were enrolled at Generations for several years.
The educational programs and staff at Generations are exceptional. Not only do the children receive an outstanding early education, but they are given the opportunity to form relationships with people from all walks in life.
Through these special relationships, both children and adults are learning to love and accept freely whatever each has to give to the other. I believe both children's success today are a direct result of their time at Generations.
I became acquainted with ASA (Ashe Services for Aging) by being employed with them and also by their taking care of my mother-in-law. Then in 2007 my health declined and I needed help myself. I receive Medicaid and Medicare and through ASA I qualified for assistance.
ASA provided me with a board certified nurse assistant for 6 hours a day which helps me with my personal care, housekeeping duties, takes vitals, and runs errands for me once a week. My medicines are monitored and also my meals are prepared for me by this CNA. My needs are met with the most dignity I have ever experienced and that’s why I can stay independent in my own home instead of being put in a nursing home.
My case manager from ASA is a very dedicated person in my life. She has helped me in so many way including helping me get my medical equipment when I need it: bath chair, walker, diabetic supplies, incontinent supplies, and recently a new Lift Chair. She also arranged for Lifeline to be installed for me, which is a lifesaver. Also ASA has a food pantry and all I have to do is call and my case manager brings me out some food when she visits. I am also blessed with a HHN (home health nurse) that comes once a month to check my vitals and general health and give me good advice.
My son’s health has also declined and he has a CNA that stays with him 2 hours a day 5 days a week through PCS services. I’m glad that he gets this help.
So I suggest if your family, friends, neighbors, or anyone needs assistance, please call ASA at 246-2461. They made a big difference in my life and gave me and my family relief. So don’t delay call today and see what a difference this assistance could be in your life also.
