Ashe Services for Aging's Mission is to provide services, intergenerational activities, and opportunities to the elderly and disabled adults of Ashe County that enhance their dignity and help them maintain their independence at home.

Diabetes Group

The senior center has started a Diabetes Group lead by Gale Bennett who has over 30 years experience with diabetes. The group will meet on the 3rd Monday of each month at 1:00 pm. Please sign up at the senior center front desk or by calling 336-246-4347.

Meals on Wheels Pet Food Donations

Join us in Helping our Meals on Wheels Clients feed their Pets. Donate a can or bag of cat/dog food and help us make it a little easier on those that are homebound. Please bring your donations by the Senior Center and our Meals on Wheels Volunteer Drivers will de-liver the pet food to those who need it when they deliver their meals for the day.

Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

The Senior Center will be closed on Monday, January 20th in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We will reopen on Tuesday.

Free Income Tax Assistance

IRS trained tax aide volunteers will be at the Senior Center to offer free income tax assistance. They will be available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from January 28th through April 9th, by appointment only. For an appointment or information stop by the Senior Center Desk or call 336-246-4347.

Chaplain Greg Topczewski

Every 1st & 3rd Tuesday, Chaplain Greg Topczewski will visit the Ashe Senior Center from 11am to 2pm. He offers a variety of services including private counseling, spiritual guidance, and more.

Caregiver Support Group

The Ashe Senior Center hosts caregiver support group meetings on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 4pm. Participants can exchange information, talk through issues, learn about community resources, and more. See flyer for full details.

Supportive Journaling Community

Safe and Confidential Community Approach for Survivors of Sexual Violence, their family and caregivers to find healing and connect. Meeting in Classroom 2 on the 2nd Friday of Every Month from 10:00a.m.-11:30am.
