Connecting people. Embracing challenges. Enriching lives…from generation to generation. This is our MISSION.
Our newly revised mission statement…a statement that truly embodies everything we do every day across all of our varied departments. This statement connects us all. We never imagined when it was created just how much it would mean, especially as we began to truly live it out during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the month of July, we have been challenging our staff to look for our Mission in Action. We have invited them to take part in a contest, sharing photos and stories of our Mission being lived out. As always, our staff have been amazing in capturing the most wonderful moments! The first week in July, we focused on moments that show how we are Connecting People. The winning photo story was submitted by Dawn Crawford from our Assisted Living Program and this is her story:
Everyone needs someone to love, and everyone needs to be loved. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. In this picture, a special friendship is evident between Nettie and Tonya. Tonya is a personal care assistant for Ashe Services for Aging and also works at Ashe Assisted Living & Memory Care. Nettie is a beautiful lady who has captured many of our hearts. Nettie and Tonya connect in many ways. The picture was taken during mealtime. Mealtime is a special time to connect with residents, getting to spend quality time with them. The moment capture shows the love and companionship between two friends. Watching these two extraordinary people together helps and encourages others every day.
