Nutrition services are intended to promote the health and well-being of older adults through the provision of a nutritious meal five days per week. Meals are served to persons 60 years of age or older and their spouse, regardless of age. Persons under 60 may eat for the full price of a meal unless they qualify for 'special eligibility'.

The meal is a hot, or other appropriate meal that assures a minimum of one-third of the daily Recommended Dietary Allowances(RDA).

Home delivered meals help enable impaired home-bound adults who are physically or mentally unable to obtain food or prepare meals and who have no responsible person willing or able to perform this needed service.

Volunteers bring a meal each weekday right to the door of homebound elderly neighbors. With the meal, they also bring a friendly greeting and a quick check of the recipient's well being. The Meals-on-Wheels Program helps foster independent living and prevents premature or unnecessary institutionalization of disabled and older adults.

Lunchtime at our senior center provides a chance for community members to get together for a visit with friends as they enjoy a hot nutritious meal. Most of the centers also plan activities just before or after the dinner so that participants have a chance to come early or stay late for exercise, a special class, a speaker, bingo, a health clinic and more.
