North Carolina Senior Tar Heel Legislature – Meet your Representatives
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Generations Senior Center
The North Carolina Senior Tar Heel Legislature (NCSTHL) is made up of Delegates and Alternates representing the 100 counties in North Carolina. Each county has one Delegate and one Alternate. They must be 60+ years of age or older. Delegates and Alternates representing the 7 county service area meet to review local and regional needs and priorities to pursue at the statewide meetings. In addition, STHL representatives work in their own county advocating for resources and solutions for older adults.
We face many challenges as we strive to meet the needs and demands of a rapidly growing aging population. North Carolina ranks 9th in the nation of 60+ population. There are 10,000 older adults waiting for services such as meals on wheels, transportation, in-home aide assistance and other services that would help them remain active, independent and healthy.
Your NCSTHL Delegate is Charlie Caudill and the Alternate is Louise Caudill for Ashe County. They will be here at the Senior Center on Wednesday, September 15th, 2021 at 12:00pm to talk about the issues that Ashe County seniors are facing.
