Join Glenda Luther, the Ashe County SHIIP Coordinator on Monday, October 10th, 2022 at 12noon. Glenda will go over the 2023 Open Enrollment for Part D and any changes for the upcoming year.
Each year, it is very important for Medicare beneficiaries to have their Part D (Drug/Prescription) plans evaluated during open enrollment. Open Enrollment is October 15th through December 7th of each year. This is to make sure the current Part D plan you have will continue to be the best plan for you in the following year. All of the Part D (Drug/Prescription) plans can and usually do change each year. Those changes include what medicines they will cover, cost of premium and cost of deductible.
The Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) is housed at the senior center with 10 highly trained Medicare Counselors that can help you navigate all of your Medicare options.
Each year, we typically have counselors available at the senior center and make appointments for everyone to come in. Due to COVID-19, some of our volunteers will still be working from home and some from the senior center. We will still be making everyone an appointment. We will need everyone to provide a list of medications prior to their scheduled appointment. If we schedule you an appointment by phone, you will need to be available by phone at your scheduled time so the Medicare Counselors can be in contact with you to retrieve other information and to also share information with you so that you can make choices for your Part D Medicare plan.
It is our goal to make sure we do everything we possibly can to assist you during the Annual Medicare Open Enrollment period. Please give us a call if you have other questions at 336-246-4347.
