Communities are more livable when they commit to protecting and preserving their natural resources, including wildlife. Among the many challenges wildlife face in North Carolina is the risk of death and disruption to habitat connectivity caused by our state’s extensive road network. Collisions between wildlife and vehicles are also a constant risk to travelers on North Carolina’s roadways. Wildlife road crossings can solve both problems by allowing safe passage for wildlife and reducing wildlife/vehicle collisions. Join presenter Nikki Robinson, North Carolina Project Manager, Wildlands Network, for a zoom lecture and opportunity for Q&A. This event is brought to you with community collaborators, the High Country Lifelong Learners and Watauga County Library.
