Ashe County Senior Tarheel Legislature Delegate Presentation
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Generations Senior Center
NCSTHL (North Carolina Senior Tarheel Legislature) committee will be recommending to the NC General Assembly, legislative measures that will ensure the quality of life available to NC’s older adults across the state when it convenes in the 2023 long session.
Ashe County STHL delegate Charlie Caudill and Louise Caudill (alternate) will be at the Senior Center on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 12:00pm to present on these measures. These issues relate to Adult Protective Services, transportation issues, fair wage for all direct care workers, affordable housing, expanding the Farmer’s Nutrition Program, hire more Ombudsmen to meet the federal standards, increase the monthly Personal Needs Allowance for Medicaid residents in nursing homes, and Medicaid Expansion – are all at the top of the list to go to the General Assembly.
Please join us to learn about these and the ways you can help advocate for these issues facing older adults in our community. There will be a question and answer session to voice your concerns and answer any questions you may have.
