Florence Thomas Art School and Generations Ashe Senior Center are partnering together to hold a series of 5 workshop opportunities that will offer older adults of Ashe County a hands-on learning experience in making art and sharing art. The first workshop will be held on Tuesday, November 15th (from 10:00-11:30 and 1:30-3:00) and will be an Alcohol Ink Workshop.
Description: Oh, those bright, beautiful, luscious alcohol ink colors. Quirky, unexpected and surprising every time you create. This introductory workshop offers hands-on experience for participants to learn how the inks work as well as the use of alcohol and texturizing techniques to create various effects. Each participant will be guided in utilizing those techniques to create a bookmark and two abstract paintings. Participants are asked to wear old clothes (inks permanently stain fabric) and come with a playful attitude. All materials will be provided.
Please contact the Senior Center front desk to sign-up for this workshop. 336-246-4347.
