2020.  A different year.  A challenging year.  But a year that refocused our attention on the love of our families and those we hold most dear.  It was also a year of transition as Ashe Services for Aging completed a major rebrand, changing the name to Generations Ashe to better reflect who the organization serves.

For most of the 2020 year, Generations Adult Day Health Center has been closed at our campus, an empty void that we have longed to fill with laughter and smiles.  Fortunately, even though our building space has been closed, we have still been able to serve our participants in some capacity in their homes, keeping those connections alive. 

While our doors had to be closed, we took that opportunity to finish landscaping and refreshing our outdoor equipment and fixtures, all of which were made possible through the generous donations we received through our previous Because of Their Love campaigns.

This month, we were excited to welcome our participants back as we reopened our center to those precious, familiar faces with tremendous joy!  Our participants were so excited to see the outdoor renovations that had been completed last year.  With warmer weather upon us, our participants will be enjoying this renewed space, rekindling their connections with friends and cultivating new interactions with the children of our child development center.

It is around this time of year that we honor and remember our mothers and fathers, grandparents and other special people in our lives.  And this year, we believe that through the trials of navigating the rough waters of a pandemic, we will pause more often with simple gratitude, grateful for the love shown by those that have been most dear to us.
